Grand Daddy I.U. is one of the most underrated members of Cold' Chillin Records, and that should already be saying something. Duke released Smooth Assassin in 1990 to fair acclaim, but it was never truly recognized for the superb effort that it was.Maybe it was because cats felt like I.U. was biting Kane's steez (and you could certainly make an argument), or maybe it was because Biz & Marley were releasing so much other heat.
Either way, don't sleep on this one. This jawn is almost 20 years old and it still kicks ass. Ha.
