After hearing so much hype about Mikkey Halsted, I finally checked out his Uncrowned King tape. I will admit that dude is nice, and he has a vocabulary normally unfit for a rapper, but his major problem is production. On Uncrowned King, he has minimal original production, which kind of masks Mikkey's weak ear for beats.Still, when he gets on the mic, he commands your attention. His peak comes over a Just Blaze opus Dear Summer. And although I highly doubt he came up with any of this off the top, we'll still call it a freestyle for 'clerical' purposes.
