Jake Lefco is a Philly-based rhymer who released a tape called Missing Trooth back in '08. I personally found out about dukes through a jawn he performed with Reef Da Lost Cauze. Then I checked out his tape, and had to show love for a vocal sample of Paulie Walnuts on Don't Lie To Me. Although What It Is is a bit sentimental and cutesy, shit is still type dope, and easily worth a listen.

Grime's Let Freedom Ring With A Buckshot is a 2007 release rooted in South American socialism. Dukes rhymes true on a political tip, and as such he shares a remarkable resemblance to Immortal Technique.

I would heavily recommend copping dude's tape. Aside from the social commentary, it's remarkable to hear anyone outside the Jedi Mind clique mention the Ottoman empire in their rapps.

9th Wonder feat. Mos Def, Jean Grae & Memphis Bleek-Brooklyn In My Mind (Crooklyn Dodgers III)

You can find this jawn on the excellent 9th Dream Merchant series. No bullshit, there are some true gems on those tapes. No gems greater than a tribute to the Crooklyn Dodgers classics, that is truly done in a fashion that honors the predecessors.
The line-up doesn't look that impressive, but each spitta lives up to their finest performance. Memph Bleek's rhymes are type impressive, and Jean Grae is in a class all her own.

For whatever reason Joe Budden's Who series was somewhat difficult to acquire in the past. And then Buddens included all three parts of Who on Halfway House. Ever since Blu & Exile crafted a masterpiece with Below The Heavens, dudes have been sleeping on Blu with a partially good reason to do so. From the outset, Blu made it known that he's an eccentric artist who never makes the same song twice. Sometimes it works, and other times it falls flat on it's ass.
On Stoopid, Blu handles the production and does a seminal job. Sene hands in a few dope verses and you have an ill all-around track.

I found this on Jahi's album Soulhop The Breakthru, a solid album that is worth copping. Dukes busts rapps over many jazz-based instrumentals, and proves to be only mildly corny while waxing poetic about 'conscious' topics. You can find this one on Guru's Jazzmatazz Vol.4, on some smooth jazz-rap shit. Sounds good in essence, however the Jazzmatazz series has been plagued throughout it's existence. On Vol.4, Guru got some weak features, especially in terms of the guest spots that typically appear on a Jazzmatazz tape.
Still, Bob James and Common together on a single track sounds like an instant success. But, the below video might make you change your mind. Sadly, that might be the official video for this jawn. Think this.

Some older Rap-A-Lot shit from '95. When it comes to TX rap, 5th Ward Boyz provided some of the earlier forms of illness, not to say no one dope came before them, but their mesh of G-Funk and esoteric rapps is to be taken serious.
