Immortal Technique-Mistakes

It's not very often that Immortal Tech shows his softer side or gets off his revolution shit. That's not to say he's a changed man on Mistakes, dukes is still on his bullshit, but he ends his last verse with some third-person tomfoolery. Made me say 'ha, Immortal Technique, you a fool for this one'.
The instrumental seems a bit too upbeat to accompany a narrative about all of the shortcomings that have been dealt to Immortal Technique throughout his life, but shit still bangs ruff.

Boogie Down Productions-Jack Of Spades

Ahh, the brilliant narrative of ghetto hero Jack (of Spades), all dictated by 'renegade teacher and scholar' KRS-1. On the real, the production for this jawn is surprisingly dope, especially since it's mainly credited to the Teacha. The hook for this jawn is quite ill, and the scratching/sample loop is intricate perfection. Not to say that KRS' poignant storytelling doesn't also shine through..

Another track off Starks' Big Doe Rehab. Initially, I didn't really feel Rec-Room Therapy, but there's a certain appeal to hearing two Wu capos over such an soft instrumental. Real talk, this is one of those beats you would never expect to hear Rae and Ghost spit over. All that goes without mentioning U-God's feature, which is predictably mediocre. Still makes for a quality jawn though.

Speaking of Cam'ron, here's the title track off S.D.E., building upon the title of the album: Sports, Drugs & Entertainment. What's so great about this jawn is how Cam drops a few mentions of his day as a baller in high-school. Dukes was aight for high school ball, even played some college ball on a scholarship. The whole track is a gem, and it's one of the few times you'll witness the god wax poetic about his past.

Ghostface Killah feat. Method Man & Raekwon-Yolanda's House

You can find this jawn on Ghostaface's Big Doe Rehab from '07. Although there were other noteworthy jawns on that tape, what makes Yolanda's House stand out is the storytelling aspect between Ghost and Mef. Raekwon's verse is quality, but ultimately unnecessary in the context of the whole song.

Dukes isn't particularly revered for his ventures into storytelling, but he certainly waxes poetic on Dance With The Devil.
