I'm finna be out of town with no access to a computer, so I won't be updating for the next two weeks. Mid-January I should be back.

Showbiz & A.G. feat. Deshaun, Big L & Lord Finesse-Represent

To be perfectly honest, I think Show may have ruined what would have been a classic posse cut with a somewhat lackluster instrumental. For real, dukes has gems upon gems of instrumentals, but the beat for this jawn is just somewhat lacking.
Still, it is Big L & Lord Finesse & Andre The Giant, so it can't be all that bad...

Miles Davis-Little Willie Leaps

Damn, I've been off my jazz shit for a second now...
This is a track off an tape that chronicles lots of early Miles Davis material. While it doesn't entirely compare to Kind Of Blue, it's still top-notch shit that you might could enjoy.

Mad Skillz-Tip Of The Tongue

While I still haven't really given Skillz' From Where??? the proper listen it deserves, I was really surprised by the quality of the production. There's dudes like Large Pro, Dilla & Buckwild that lace Skillz with production, but some of the true instrumentals come from lesser-known producers like Shawn J Period and Nick Wiz. This is one of the standout tracks off that tape, but the hook is type weak sauce.

Brand Nubian-Brand Nubian

This was the single off Brand Nubian's Afrocentric One For All. And while the rhimes are significantly less pointed than Brand Nubian's later albums, that doesn't stop Lord Jamar, Sadat X & Grand Puba from dropping science and kicking knowledge.

Myke Lo-God Bless Your Life (Instrumental)

I honestly have no idea how this track made it into my collection. From what I managed to find about Myke Lo (Mike Loe), dukes produced some tracks for Ill Biskits back in the 90's and had numerous other lesser-known production spots. I think this track is well ill while fairly simplistic as well.

Mike Schpitz-Bo Diddley

I ain't been up on my dude Mike Schpitz for a second now, but since talking to dukes I got put on to Mike Murder, a tape that he released a little while back.
I strongly encourage you to check that tape out. Forreal, I should have spent the day studying but instead had that tape on repeat, I assure you that shit is serious.  Bo Diddley is my favorite jawn, I can't quite recall what the instrumental is but Mikey drops some genuine heat. No hook.

Celph Titled & Buckwild-The Deal Maker

I don't know if it's in poor taste to post this jawn cos the album was just released a month or two ago, but this is some piff that needs play. I didn't really fuck with much of Celph's earlier shit, but hopping on tracks with Buckwild is definitely a good look for dukes. This instrumental almost sounds like one of those beats on Buck's unreleased tape.

Off some unreleased Pac Div tape. Not sure where I copped that tape from, but it's certainly floating around somewhere on the internets. Godfather Don-Stuck Off The Realness

After bumping Mo Money Mo Murda Mo Homicide, I felt like getting on my mafioso shit real thorough like. So I found this track on a comp tape of Godfather Don's featuring tracks that never got released in the '90's. Stuck Off The Realness stood out most to me, but it could just be that Hav + Prod favoritism, or maybe the eerie-ass vibes this track produces.

Lord Finesse & DJ Mike Smooth-Bad Mutha

How I'm gonna try and pick a favorite off Funky Technician when that whole album is straight butter? Some foolish shit on my part, perhaps even more foolish is that I first recognized this as the instrumental for Nas' Get Down rather than vice-versa.
Finesse kills this shit on an real old-school tip. Shit just sounds so incredibly smooth.

Souls Of Mischief-What A Way To Go Out

The Souls with some social commentary over an immaculate EPMD scratch and a type excellent instrumental. It's really too bad that '93 Til Infinity is almost exclusively known for the eponymous title track. Cos these dudes ripped it for the nine three.

Pharcyde-Runnin'

Although I've posted a few tracks off Labcabincalifornia, I really wouldn't consider myself to be an avid listener of the Pharcyde. Sure, it's heartfelt and incredibly artistic how they sing and change pitches throughout a bar, but their shit can get downright hard to listen to. All that said, I don't think they fucked up Runnin' all that bad on a linguistic tip, but it definitely doesn't live up to Dilla's masterpiece.

UGK-Pregnant Pussy

This track is definitely an interesting listen, if not for Pimp's continuously disturbing references to getting his dick blowed by a baby. My favorite part of this jawn is the hook though, it's some great production for '92, and that sample is obscure as shit.

This is a cut off Rashid Hadee's It Ain't Hard To Tell EP. This track definitely appears on other tapes too, but I believe this was it's origin. If I haven't said it enuff times already I'll say it once more, Rashid Hadee is the truth, and you should check out all his shit. Termanology-Circulate (100 Bars)

You see dukes rocking the Sheed? That's my dunny, yo! Rasheed is way past his prime, but still one of the illest characters to ever touch the rock. Nas-The World Is Yours (Remix)

Just got a new computer, so posts might be a little sporadic. Like a true ignoramus, I don't know much about this jawn. Off that Livin' Like Hustlers tape from 1990. That 9.2 Richter scale type shit, yanahmean? I'm not sure how the OG copy of this jawn got put out (maybe just as a Priority Records mini posse-cut), but I found this track on an type excellent Rassy compilation done by the Philaflava peoples here. I think it bumps far harder than the OG, but then again it doesn't have an classic video accompanying it, so who knows...

Curren$y-Bout It

It took me a while to get to that Smokee Robinson tape. It's well similar to the rest of Spitta's tapes, in that it's pretty mediocre with the exception of a few select jawns. Some predictable bragadoccio shit, but that Soul On Ice reference is what I'm about.

Wale-Nike Boots

I legitimately like this jawn, despite it's sprawling advocacy of materialism. Young Wayne did a remix of this jawn and ripped it right well.

I don't know if I'm about the newer Trag shit, I mean it's well dope and dukes certainly doesn't change the subject matter, but it's not even comparable to the man's earlier material. This comes off a somewhat newer tape called The Death Of Tragedy, dope production, predictably ill rhimes, well worth copping.
