Some say that Murs sold his soul for riches on Murs For President, due to a commercialized sound and his first release on a major label (Warner Bros). Truth be told, that was how I felt after my first few listens to his album. This is a guy whose name is an acronym stand for 'Making Underground Raw Shit'. Hard to be underground when you're grill is all over MTV, but after another listen I couldn't front, Murs For President is a dope album. Maybe not front to back, and maybe the sound is more refined, but Murs didn't dumb down his lyrics.
