A few days ago I was reading The Coup's wiki page out of curiosity. My curiosity stems from listening to the funky instrumentals that typically fill The Coup's albums. All this time, I always thought that Pam The Funkstress was the producer for the group and Boots Riley did the vocals. However, it turns out that Pam only does the scratches and Boots Riley does the majority of the production.
So really, Boots Riley is The Coup. Right?

I have the steal this album release and in the notes it says The Funkstress produced most of the jams...Idk how accuarate the insert is though. They're not always, look at All Eyez on Me. the majority says Dre or Daz when DJ Quik admitted to produced over a handful of hits on the record...Who knows...

Jeronimo, I'm wondering what you're reading because my copy of Steal This Album says that Boots Riley produced them all except for two which were merely co-produced by Pam along with Boots.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't own a physical copy, the Wiki production notes also say that Pam only co-produced two songs.
