Upon reading numerous dismal reviews of 'Loso's Way, I decided to listen to another Fab album with less-than-optimal reviews: From Nothin' To Somethin'. I'm not sure how the hip hop community really sees John Jackson, but it must be in an artificial light, if we are unsatisfied by an multi-platinum artist releasing an album of half radio friendly piffle and half heat.
Real talk, dig up your copy of From Nothin' To Somethin', delete all the songs featuring an R&B singer, and you're left with 9 tracks that are actually pretty damn good (well, by mainstream standards anyway).
Yep, I'm Back really opened up my eyes. A really polished beat? Yeah. A generic, dollar-store hook? Yeah. But, Fab starts dropping punchlines and witty metaphors, an intricate Scarface reference, all sorts 'a shit. Don't sleep.
