For all the hoopla that was Black Star, people tend to forget that Mos Def is not the first creative mind that Kweli has joined on the road to making a classic. Aside from his work with Hi Tek as Reflection Eternal, Kweli also put in work with Madlib on Liberation.
It seems ironic at the very least, that a man like Kweli who is constantly labeled as 'boring' and 'overly conscious' would work with hip hop's illest. Not saying Kweli doesn't have his moments though, this here is an example of him controlling the mic and the attention of the listener.

Wheoever called Kweli "boring" or "overly conscious" has no fucking clue what they are talking about. He's one of the most exciting and talented lyricists, even Jay said so on "Moment of Clarity."
ReplyDelete..Do they listen to music or do they just skim through it? (c) Hov.
