If you feel like you've heard of Aasim, but you've never heard of him, don't worry, you're not alone. Dude was getting schooled by Pun, Stic.Man (of Dead Prez), and Black Rob back in the 90's. If you listen to him on this joint, you can hear all types of influence on his flow and delivery. It'd be a severe understatement to say that Aasim has potential.
But, after signing to Bad Boy, releasing the mediocre Money Pit, and in turn becoming P Diddy's ghostwriter, Aasim's career has taken a turn for the worse.
That said, Hip Hop 101 is Aasim at his very best, unleashing a flurry of metaphors that assault and caress the ear at the very same time.
Hip Hop 101 is the second part of this video, try 4 minutes and onward.
